Use and maintenance

Especially with a tank with more pumps, we can give the following tips:

  • place the pumps at least 10cm (4in) below water surface
  • keep a distance of at least 5cm (2in) from the adjacent panes, so that the system won't enter in resonance
  • orient pumps in opposite directions so that the generated currents will close themselves like a "circle/ring"
  • possibly, keep the flow cone of the pump free from stones or anything else
  • maintain enough distance from the bottom, especially if made with sand. In this manner, the pump doesn't move excessively the sand thus avoiding small grains entering inside the pump accidentally and deteriorating it abnormally.

Once you've taken out the pump from your aquarium, it's enough to remove the front chamber and the rotor assy and to put them in a small recipient with water and a concentrate of lemon juice or vinegar for about half an hour, so that the dirt deposits will be easier to remove.

After this period, just pass the brush (included in the box) over parts, especially on the front chamber openings and on the bottom of the rotor chamber then rinse everything under tap water.

 Mover Guide

Mover M comes with a magnetic support suitable up to 15mm (.60in) thick panes.

Mover MX comes with a magnetic support suitable up to 19mm (3/4in) thick panes.

There are optional accessories of the external magnetic support both for panes up to 19mm (3/4in) or up to 25mm (1in) thick available.

Mover is designed for a continuous operation 24/7 so it's not required to switch it off. However it's compatible with any timer for on/off cycles (e.g.) to simulate marea effect.

As indicated on the package, Mover M models can resist to on/off cycles starting from 1 minute on while Mover MX models can resist to cycles starting from 5 minutes on. 

Anyway, the less on/off cycles the pumps do, the longer is their rotor lifetime.

IMPORTANT: rotor is not included in warranty.

In case you want to get natural waves effects, we strongly recommend to connect your Mover to Waver controller which is specifically designed for this purpose.

Yes of course and this is the best condition to use a Mover and to get its maximum performance.

With Waver the flow can be downrated from 100% to 30% of its nominal value.

No, we strongly recommend you to operate the pump only when the water reaches the right density and there are no visible salt particles in suspension.

WARNING: Do not use the pump for other than its use in aquarium. The deterioration of the parts or damages on the motor caused by improper use are excluded by our warranty.

Mover pumps are suitable for corner tanks too, because you can orientate the flow so that the generated currents will close themselves in a "circle" without creating vortex.

We suggest you to place the pumps near the corner, so the flow can take advantage by the natural curve of the tank (see image below).

Accessories

The real measure of the line cord is the same for all Mover models and it's 2m (6ft) long

They are supplied together with Mover MX13400 (MX3500) and MX15200 (MX4100) models and they should be added on the internal magnetic support, in case of glasses / acrylic panes under to 17mm (.67in) thick, to increase the VAS effectiveness and keep the product very quiet.

You could apply the fish protection grid with programmable timers for ON/off cycles.

If the pump is operated 24/7, it is strongly recommended to not apply the protection grid, so you can enjoy of maximum performances, without any flow reduction.

IMPORTANT: do not apply the protection grid on Mover MX Models if powered by Waver.

Apply the protection grid by aligning it to the front chamber (watch the images below).

Normally a wider flow (without concetrator nozzle) is better because is softer and more diffused.

You could apply the concentrator nozzle into long tanks but especially with corals bed tanks. In this way you can focus the water movement without annoying the nearby corals.

Technical support

Just do maintenance as the dirt deposits can slow down rotor spin.

Keeping the product clean is a good rule to guarantee the constance of maximum performances. We recommend an inspection and to perform a cleaning at least every 3 months.

Press the two corners of chamber for 4-5 seconds then release.

This definitely solves the issue.

Front Chamber Pressing Point

There's friction/interference between ceramic bearings and rotor. The operation to do is to pull up the rotor (by maintaining it in its housing) and to move it backward using quite strength with hands. Then repeat the same operation after having manually rotated it half a turn (180°) and after this operation it will be completely free to move axially up and down without "scratching". After this operation, please let the pump go at 100% (or without Waver) possibly at least for 4-6 hours. This should settle definitely the bearings alignment.

1- Extract the rotor, ensure you've done an appropriate maintenance and verify that there isn't any dirt deposit which can cause right startup to fail 

2- Verify the integrity of the rubber teeth inside the rotor disc.

If they are compromised, it's required to replace the rotor.

Find the right spare for your Mover. Browse the catalougue -> Spare parts

Check if the rotor bottom end cylinder has not been submitted to an abnormal wear (e.g. saltwater mixing). If it's compromised, it's required to replace it.

Rotor 2a

Find the right replacement for your Mover.

Plastic teeth are touching the shock absorber rubber teeth. This situation could be produced by a wrongly positioned rubber shock absorber inside the rotor locking disc. It's enough you follow these instructions to verify if this is the matter:
- unplug the pump and take it out of the water
- unmount the front chamber
- without disassembling the rotor, rotate it manually and try to feel if it rotates freely or if you feel it "touches" something during its rotation.
If you feel this "touches something" during its rotation, then it's enough to unmount the rotor and take a look at its rubber teeth.
They should be both below the end level of plastic cylinder of at least 0,039in ch. Attached you can find a photo for you to verify the correct position.

To repair this issue definitely, it's enough to bring the rubber shock absorber in its correct position.
Our suggestion is to use a small - screwdriver (not a +) and press the rubber down all around the circumference.
